As the pace of change in society and business gains speed, companies need future leaders to develop even faster. There is no step-by-step guide, but emerging leaders can stay ahead of the curve if they know how to accelerate their learning and have access to a diverse community of peers to help them thrive.
Leveraging WeWork’s spaces and expertise in bringing people together with Spencer Stuart's insights into leadership and leadership impact, the Future Leaders Experience will create a community of 40 future leaders — across functions and industries from some of the world’s most admired companies — and equip them to accelerate their career growth and have an outsized impact on their organizations.
Over the course of three sessions, the program will delve into three core areas — Vision, Growth and Culture. The sessions will feature leading experts in these areas. Learning will be supported by experiences that put the content into practice and a community of learners with whom participants will create meaningful and sustained relationships.
In addition to these three sessions, there will be two monthly evening gatherings featuring a MG 100 Coaches Speaker to further develop the community of learners.

Companies can and should support the growth of future leaders through stretch assignments, formal development programs and sponsorship. Yet the increased velocity and complexity require emerging leaders to invest in their own growth - both by learning how to learn faster and more effectively, and also by tapping into internal and external communities of peer resources
The best leaders combine curiosity, ambition and an ability to integrate diverse and divergent inputs to reveal insights that they then shape into a positive vision for the future that energizes and engages others. With the pace of change accelerating, visionary leadership is even more essential in the C-suite and other levels of leadership, so future leaders need to learn early in their careers how to create and communicate their own vision.
It’s often said that “culture eats strategy for breakfast.” So the ability to shape and evolve culture to support business strategy is a critical capability for leaders. The first step is understanding what culture is, and even more importantly how to manage and shape culture. Given the complexity and nuance involved in being a “culture operator,” emerging leaders need to make this a focus early in their careers and refine their skills over time.
Leaders come in many different shapes and sizes – such as the “strategic MBA” vs. the “brilliant technical engineer.” As we aim to build a diverse cohort of various functional and industry backgrounds, we encourage either profile. If at the end of your discussion you have two very different but equally strong profiles, you may submit two nominees.
Nominees should demonstrate leadership potential relating to the following key criteria:
WeWork is a global network of workspaces where companies and people grow together. We transform buildings into dynamic environments for creativity, focus, and connection. More than just the best place to work, though, this is a movement toward humanizing work. We believe that CEOs can help each other, offices can use the comforts of home, and we can all look forward to Monday if we find real meaning in what we do.
